You probably don’t know what Marxism is. Stop saying it.

The recent trend of the right reverting back to “red scare” McCarthyism tactics by using random far-left terms towards anything they disagree with is beginning to get out of hand. If I’m being honest, the average right winger can’t even properly define socialism, let alone Marxism, or any of Karl Marx’s philosophies, so I’m here to clear things up because it’s becoming incredibly tiresome.

Disclaimer: I am not a Marxist. I am a Democratic Socialist. There is a difference.

So what actually is Marxism? Marxism is simply the political philosophy of Karl Marx, the grandfather of communism. Marx believed in the idea of an classless society, where all are equal & all businesses are owned & ran by the workers, rather than elite businessmen on top. He also advocated against the idea of owning private property, argued that a business’s profit was theft against the working class & came up with the motto “to each according to his need, from each according to his ability”, which essentially sums it all up in a nutshell.

I personally think it’s too idealistic to ever work in the real world, but when I hear Trumpists call multi-billion dollar corporations like Goodyear Tires “Marxist” for banning MAGA apparel at their workplace, I cant help but laugh. In a Marxist world, a corporation like that wouldn’t even exist. Even Authoritarian Dictatorships like Venezuela or North Korea aren’t Marxist. If you have wealthy leaders or politicians, you do not live in a Marxist society. If you can own a business or any form of private property, you are not living in a Marxist society. Now to answer the question most people care about, is Joe Biden a Marxist? ABSOLUTELY NOT AT ALL. Biden is the epitome of a Corporate Democrat. He has never once talked about ending capitalism, in fact he loves capitalism as evidenced by his willingness to take millions from corporations, SuperPACs & billionaires. Don’t continue making yourself look stupid. Stop calling everything Marxist.
